On Friday the 24th of March 2023 the EPS PhD Council will organize a company visit for EPS PhD candidates to Solynta, a Hybrid Potato Breeding company. During this event we will visit the Solynta headquarters as well as the greenhouse facilities, both located in and around Wageningen. For convenience, we have arranged a bus which will pick us up at 9.00 in the morning to bring us to Solynta and will bring us back to the WUR campus after lunch (+/- 13.30). Any travel to the WUR campus will be reimbursed by EPS.
Solynta is a relatively small company who are one of the frontrunners when it comes to hybrid potato breeding (For more information, please visit their website: https://www.solynta.com/). We will start our day by getting to know Solynta with a couple of scientific talks on the research they are conducting and some explanation on what makes Solynta stand out in comparison with other companies. The program will continue with a tour through their greenhouse facilities and will be concluded with lunch. During lunch Solynta will allow us to interact with the employees in order to gain more insight into the company’s atmosphere on the workfloor.
All EPS PhD candidates who are interested in plant breeding with high performance breeding techniques on the molecular level are invited to sign up for this company visit.
